Ronald J. Friedman, M.D., Announces Bid For Governor of California
MDIA President Addresses Healthcare Issues

Woodland Hills, CA — September 17, 2003 — Ronald J. Friedman, M.D., co-founder and president of Medical Diagnostic Associates, A Medical Corporation (MDIA), and candidate for Governor of California, today pledged if elected, to review the current Health care Delivery System with the goal to afford all Californians greater access to health services. Dr. Friedman is a nonpartisan candidate certified by the California Secretary of State's office. His name will appear on the October 7 recall ballot.

"The quality of available health care in California is the best in the nation. Unfortunately, it’s not within the reach of many citizens," said Dr. Friedman. "With a graying population, it is increasingly clear that all health care dollars must be spent judiciously and for the greatest impact. The first step toward affording better health care access is to improve the overall financial health of the State. The finest in physician care and medical technology can then become a reality for all Californians."

Dr. Friedman was born and educated in New York, moved to California in 1968 to serve his selective service obligation at the U.S. Public Health Service Hospital in San Francisco where he received Nuclear Medicine fellowship training. He completed his residency training in Diagnostic Radiology at the University of California, Los Angeles, and a Fellowship in Magnetic Resonance Imaging at the University of Southern California. Dr. Friedman is a California practicing physician, a member of the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Task Force for Worker’s Compensation Fraud, is a member of numerous medical societies, and an active proponent of quality medical care. He is a staunch supporter of the California Bar to the Corporate Practice of Medicine, which insures that only medical licensees may practice medicine and make decisions regarding patient care.
