Ronald J. Friedman, M.D., Announces Bid For Governor of California
Platform Includes Improved Healthcare Access
Woodland Hills, CA — August 15, 2003 — Ronald J.
Friedman, M.D., co-founder and president of Medical Diagnostic
Associates, A Medical Corporation, today announced his candidacy for
governor of California. Among other issues, Dr. Friedman, a diagnostic
radiologist, pledges to review the current healthcare delivery system
to assure all Californians greater access to health services.
Dr. Friedman is among the 135 candidates running for
governor statewide, and is represented as a nonpartisan candidate. He
has been approved by the California Secretary of State's office and his
name will appear on the October 7 recall ballot.
"The quality of healthcare in California is among the
best in the nation, but unfortunately it is not within reach of many of
our citizens," said Dr. Friedman. "The first step to creating better
healthcare access is to improve the overall financial situation in the
state so that the finest in physician care and available technology can
become a reality for all Californians."
Dr. Friedman was born and educated in New York, moving
to California in 1968 to serve his selective service obligation at the
U.S. Public Health Service Hospital in San Francisco. At that hospital,
he completed fellowship training in Nuclear Medicine. Following
completion of residency in Diagnostic Radiology at the University of
California, Los Angeles, he entered private practice in the Los Angeles
area and remains in active practice. Dr. Friedman is a member of
numerous medical societies, is an active proponent of quality medical
care, and is a staunch supporter of the California Bar to the Corporate
Practice of Medicine, which ensures that only medical licensees may
practice medicine.
